"What if a Russian armored vehicle column were approaching for attack, maneuvering between mountains about 15km (16.84 miles) away as they came forward?" - FoxNews

What if there were no real military threats and so we invented them to justify spending more on the military than the next eleven countries combined?

Theater warfare is gone but not forgotten by the war mongers War College generals. Small unit warfare has been the predominant form of engagement since Vietnam but A) we suck at it and B) there's no money in it.

Big money requires big toys which require big enemies. We keep beating the drum about the big scary Russians, but here's a fun fact:

The Russian Federation's military budget is less than ten percent of America's (8.9%).

We have a greater chance of going to war with Kentucky.

(Although mad props to FoxNews for using the subjunctive form)

The repugnant state of journalism is well-documented and tiresome to lament, but here is an exceptional example of its depravity. Amazon is now writing the scripts presented as 'news'.

At least eleven television stations aired this piece as written.

A complex systems engineer, his 14-year-old daughter, and a couple of government stooges – A VA MD and an oncologist — convinced the Dubya administration that shutting down the country and 'social distancing' was the answer to an epidemic. Nary an economist or epidemiologist in sight. NY Times article.

NY Post takes a swipe at its peers:

“President John Adams signed a law making it a crime to criticize the government; 20 newspaper editors were imprisoned. Andrew Jackson not only had his own paper, edited by a member of his cabinet, but it got government subsidies. Kayleigh McEnany hurting your feelings is not a constitutional crisis.”

And then there's this guy “If you have a problem figuring out whether you’re for me or Trump, then you ain’t black.” – JoeBob Biden, May 22, 2020

Our choices boil down to Whackjob A or Whackjob B.

Is it too late to get Bernie the Communist back?

The Trump administration's new Vaccine Czar, appointed to lead the ridiculously named Operation Warp Speed that would include the equally ridiculous notion of deploying a SARS-CoV-2 vaccine using the military, has accepted the position as an independent contractor.

As a contractor, Moncef Slaoui is not subject to laws that would require disclosure of of positions, holdings, and other circumstances that would present a conflict of interest.

Don't worry, the HHS ethics office has cleared him.

Yesterday Trump wanted to be FDR by nationalizing pharma, today he wants to be Stalin by militarizing the distribution of a CoVID-19 vaccine.
